We'll Always Be Thankful For Kacie's Gift Of Gus (2/24/01 - 8/25/12)

We Lost A Little Piece Of Kacie This Morning - Gus Died At 7:20 In Nancy's Arms On The Way To The Vet

Gus had been very sluggish for the last month or so and was losing weight.  His vision and hearing were rapidly deteriorating.  Yesterday, he stopped eating and was breathing heavily and this morning he was too weak to stand.  We'll always remember the day that Jeff and Kacie brought him into our house in a shoe box eleven years ago.  I didn't expect him to survive so I filmed one of the final minutes of his life this morning.

The Last Cd That Kacie Played

I've been playing a lot of Kacie's albums on her turntable/cd player and I just happened to open the cd tray  for the first time and this cd came out.

Money Dream

I had this dream several days ago. I was away from home for a short time and when I came back to our house in Woodbine there were servants everywhere performing all sorts of tasks. The lawn was being mowed by someone on a big tractor and the house was full of servants. I looked around and wondered how I could possibly pay for all this. Then I went upstairs to the master bedroom and Kacie was there talking to her grandmother, Haydee, and bragging about how much money I made. When I walked into the room she looked around ten years old and said "how much money do you make?" and I woke up.

A Message To Kacie From A True Super Star (Part 1)

Years ago Kacie, Beebs, and I used to hang out with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.  One night when they were appearing at the Fish Market Club in Baltimore, Kacie was home with a cold and couldn't attend so the boys sent her messages.  When I got home, I played them for her and it seemed to lift her spirits.

December '63 (Oh What A Night) reached number 1 on the charts worldwide.  Jerry Polci, the drummer, was allowed by Frankie to sing lead and it worked well.  The song is now recognized as the longest charted single in the history of rock.  It sold 8 million copies!!

Scoll down to Part 2 for the messages.

A Message To Kacie From A True Super Star (Part 2)

The first message is from the musical director of the Four Seasons, the second from the piano player, and the third from the man himself, Jerry Polci.  The handsome rascal with Jerry is me.

We Knew That We Had A Comedian On Our Hands At Age 6

The Dam At Liberty Reservoir Circa 1960

Those black and white saddle shoes were the rage back then.

Hurricane Donna Hits Ocean City In September of 1960

We were absolutely  amazed at the severity and magnitude of the destruction that we saw.  The entire island looked as if it had been hit with an atomic bomb.  We couldn't believe that O.C. could ever  recover.  We were really wrong!!!

Hurricane Donna Hits Ocean City In 1960

The boardwalk was completely destroyed but somehow the hotels and stores along here somehow withstood the 110 mph winds.

Ocean City Vacation Circa 1960 (63rd Street)

That's me and Kacie's great grandpa, Elmer, playing with the raft.  Our dog, Fritz, loved the surf.

Ocean City Vacation Circa 1960 (63rd Street)

That's my father with the raft, me with the inner tube and Mimi brushing her hair.

Ocean City Vacation Circa 1960 (63rd Street)

That's my father and I playing in the surf and me digging in the sand.  Mimi is the lady on the lounge chair with the white cap.  The yellow house behind us was where we stayed for two weeks and it was entirely washed out to sea by Hurricane Donna two months later.

Ocean City Movie

A new movie filmed entirely in Ocean City, Md. will go into production this fall.  It will be called Ping Pong Summer.  We will be spending a week in O.C. during the filming and will put a lot of footage and photos of the filming on Kacie's website.

Old Man Catches a Big Shark Last Week

We got this one off of Dolphin Head and it went about 5-6 feet.  It was amazingly  fast and built like a bull.
This was probably a sandbar  shark and not as big as the hammerhead that we caught in May

Great Tea

Thanks Natalie. This really is great tea. Maybe we can visit Gypsy's or Kacie's coffee shop in Ellicott City when we visit this fall.

Congratulations To The Graduate - Jeff

Gypsy's Tea Room - Westminster

This weekend I had the pleasure of returning to Gypsy's Tearoom in Westminster. I had first gone there with Kacie back when we lived in Sykesville. Kacie found it on the internet. She loved tea. Since then I have been back with Larissa and Vince. My mom moved to Westminster about a year ago right up the street from it. It is very good! Scones, sandwiches, salad and soup! I went this weekend with my mom, aunt and grandmother. Gary and Nancy, do either of you drink tea?

Sky Sharks

We had a great day of shark fishing today and as we were coming back to the dock, Beebs looked up and spotted this cloud that closely resembles a shark.

Mimi's Meteorite Dream

Talk about a strange dream- I had this one two days ago. Mimi was living in my grandmother's house on Coleridge Road in Baltimore. She was in good health and looked liked she may have been in her fifties. Kacie and I went to see her and found her in the back yard blowing leaves away from a huge rock formation. I took the leaf blower away from her and started to blow leaves away from the rock and soon realized that it was a meteorite. When I finished, I complimented Kacie on being very patient. I found a coat next to the rock and gave it to Kacie and she said that it wasn't hers and we left.

I'm sure this has been posted before, but felt like posting it today.

     "Chanceford Road"

Exhaust and tulips,
My melting pot neighborhood
Good old Catonsville,
Grandpa built our house on you.

Now it is I who borrows sugar from thugs,
And,  if awake at dinnertime, the geriatrics.
WuTang and Ella,
A sour combination as I try to sleep.

Chanceford, nothing more than the odd
conundrum no one wants to figure out.

Curry and pot roast asphyxiate just like poison,
when they are jumbled.

                    " Love"

Love, perhaps more science than romance.
Invisible yet quantifiable matter,
it might evaporate and float away.
   fall elsewhere,
   freeze, boil;
it could circulate in the blood,
bitter as an infection,
benevolent as a nutrient.
Clear, tangible.
It died.  It was born.

Vincent Gallo News

One of Kacies favorite actors/ filmakers... always very controversial...

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/10/movies/vincent-gallo-keeps-promises-written-in-water-off-screens.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss

Kacie loved the movie he did with Christina Ricci called Buffalo 66.

Kacie's Early Humor- Stick Beach

"If you look closely you will notice that nothing is a circle." Enjoy "stick cokes" and "stick dogs." I'll never forget how hard I laughed when she brought this to me. I'm guessing she was in the first or second grade.
