Happy Mothers Day!

Hi Nancy,

I hope you are having a nice Mothers day today and went and did something special. Larissa, Amanda and I will be going to OC for a weekend July 31st and August 1st. Are you guys still planning on coming up in September? Can't wait to see you!

Thought this pic would make you laugh.

Take Care,
Natalie

Mother's Day Dream

I had this dream just before I woke up this morning.

We hadn't seen Kacie in a long time and were told of a house that she was living in. When Nancy and I got to the house there were a lot of camera crews outside with bright lights. I looked into the windows of the house and there was no furniture. I walked around the house calling her name until I found an open door and walked into the kitchen. Nancy was there and Kacie seemed to be very upset. She appeared to be in her early teens. We asked her to come back home but she said that she wanted to keep on living on her own. I then came up with the idea of getting her a dog to lure her back home and then I woke up.

Mother's Day Not So Long Ago

Mother's Day 5/92

Mother's Day A Long Time Ago

Slide Projector

I took a short nap this afternoon like all old people do and I had this brief dream.

We were with a lot of people sitting around a swimming pool and Kacie was there with a slide projector. She looked around 9 or 10. I handed her three slides which she showed and then we called her by name and she walked over to our table. Just as she got to us, I woke up.

A Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day Nancy!

Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day and let you know that I think about you a lot. Hope you guys have a good day and the weather is nice in HHI.

Love,
Jeff

America's Funniest Videos- No Joke

Nancy and I are actually going to submit a video to the tv show America's Funniest Videos. All I will say at this point is that it will involve an incredible talent that I have to make amazing noises. I'm sure that Kacie has told her friends about my unique gift but if not, you'll just have to watch the tv show with the rest of the country. If the tv show will air it, I have no doubt that I will win the grand prize. Stay tuned for updates.

Weekend At The Inn

I had this dream this morning
Nancy, Kacie and I spent a weekend together at a small inn somewhere in the mountains in Pennsylvania. It was in a very old town with lots of shops and places to eat. I can't remember a thing that Kacie said but she had a great time walking around the town and playing with other children her age staying at the inn. She looked about six or seven years old. The roads were snow covered and we had a difficult trip back to our home in Maryland because we were traveling together on one bike with flat tires. Before leaving the inn, we made plans to come back the next weekend and explore some of the caves in the area.

Kacie's Father Turns 60 Today!!!

I have no control over how quickly the years have flown by, but I take great comfort in knowing that no one can ever make me grow up.

Drivers License

I just had this interesting dream.

I was concerned that I couldn't find Kacie's drivers license because I wanted to add it to her other things that we've collected in her room. I traveled to Baltimore and spoke with a lot of people and visited several businesses and inquired as to how I might get a duplicate of her license. When all efforts failed, I ran into Nancy and she told me to look inside Kacie's little blue purse in her room and I then woke up.

Well, I found the little blue purse in Kacie's room and here is Kacie's license and the purse.

Inflatable Bird

I had this strange dream last night.

My friends from high school and college built a rather poorly constructed house in the woods near Liberty Lake just outside of Baltimore. There were all kinds of problems and building code violations so I decided to leave the house as quickly as possible. Nancy was with me and we hadn't gotten married yet. As she and I were leaving , I called for Kacie. Kacie walked into the living room wearing an inflatable bird costume. None of her body was exposed and based on her height, she was probably six or younger.

Talk to me

Does anyone remember how Kacie used to answer her phone all the time?

"Talk to me"

She used to say it so funny, can't explain how she said it.

Ocean City Reunion

We will be spending several days in Ocean City during the last week of September. We want to visit all of Kacie's favorite spots and do the things that she enjoyed. Jeff can probably make it. How about everyone else?

if you look at the brick on the picture above there is a bright white circle... I have no idea what this is. brick doesn't reflect light and I took it with no flash on my iphone. maybe Kacie was saying hello.

Kacie Liked Historic Savannah

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Savannah this morning. We visited these spots numerous times with Kacie because it is only a half hour trip from our island. The first picture is where Forrest Gump sat on his bench, which was a prop placed in front of this concrete wall, and ate his box of chocolates. The last picture is Mercer House which is where the story Midnight In the Garden took place.

Thanks For The Flowers

more photos

I'm at a loss for posting photos you all haven't seen. But here's a few random ones you may not have seen.
I can't believe its been two years.....

3/11/10

The weather was beautiful in Maryland today. I took Eva for a walk down River Road late morning and could not have asked for more perfect weather. The sun was shining and there was not a cloud in the sky. I wore a t-shirt the whole time. As you can see in some areas in the shade there are still big piles of snow that have not melted yet. I started off my morning with a iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts (Kacie's fav). I brought my camera with me on the walk but when i got to the rock I realized my camera's batteries were dead. So all of these are taken with my iphone. The water was very high from all of the snow melting. The water was so high that the rock where Kacie's initials were carved was completely covered with about a couple feet of water. I tried to see if i could see the initials through the water but it was too hard to get out there especially with my dog yanking me around. The water was also an unusual bluish green color that was just beautiful looking. I also had noticed the surrounding rocks were special to some other people too. There was a newly carved heart with two peoples names in it and someone else had recently painted on one rock "matt loves lauren" in hot pink paint. While I kneeled down to examine someones handiwork on the rock my iphone slipped out of my pocket and in slow motion tumbled down the rock and PLOP! into 2 or 3 feet of water. I could see the screen was still lit up under water and I instinctivley yelled NO!!! and jumped in the water after it in my boots and jeans. I rescued the phone and the screen went black. I immediatley started crying not only because it is a very expensive phone but just because of my emotions running crazy and the luck of the camera being dead and then I had just taken all these photos and now I thought they were forever gone. As soon as I let out the first few tears, I was shocked to see the light come back up and the phone was still working!? I couldn't believe it. I wanted to go take a picture of the mailboxes that I had told Gary about. the one that says "New" and "Old" on it. But in this case of an emergency, I had to leave and make sure my phone was okay. I went to the Little Georges conveinence store up the street and bought a bag of rice. I buried my phone in it hoping that it would suck out whatever moisture had gotten inside. Needless to say, my phone is working fine! Can you believe it?? After that, I went to Habib's Kabab in Eldersburg (another one of Kacie's faves) and got the Falafel Melt pizza. This evening I am meeting Vince for dinner at the Yabba Pot. It was the first vegan resturaunt Kacie had ever taken me to. Hope everyone else had a good day and did something in Kacie's honor. Love you all. Love you Kacie.

Love by Kacie L. New 10.04.1983 - 03.11.2008

Love perhaps more science than romance.
Invisible yet quantifiable matter,
it might evaporate and float away.

Fall elsewhere.
freeze, boil;
it could circulate in the blood,
bitter as an infection,
benevolent as a nutrient.

Clear, tangible.
It died. It was born.

Pavement

Hey ya'll sorry it's been so long since I posted!
I just saw the news that Pavement, one of Kacie's all time faves is going on tour this summer/fall.
I guess they just got back together for a reunion tour after ten years of being broken up.
They weren't one of my favorites, even though I do like them, but I was thinking of going for Kacie. The show is not until September 17, and there isn't one in Baltimore, just Philadelphia and New York.
Any one else thinking about it?
