In January, Kacie begged us to adopt Val but I was against it and made her wait for a month or two. By then Val had been adopted and I told her to find another dog if she really wanted one and she got on the internet and found Gus in Augusta, Georgia. He was born in February. Good things come to those who wait.

I remember Val! As the ad states, Kacie was his sponsor and he had a very rough upbringing and was extremely shy and protective. I remember Kacie being the only person that Val would let get close to him. Eventually after you guys let him stay temporarily at the house one weekend, he eventually got comfortable with me petting him. This is one of my favorite memories of Kacie because there was hardly anyone at the shelter that Val was comfortable with and she always took time out to visit him. Ever since her passing, I have always had the thought of someday doing something significant for animals at a shelter in her memory, such as a donation or even opening a shelter of my own. Thanks for posting this picture, it is a great memory of her.

She has always loved animals. The great thing is that after Kacie socialized Val, we heard that she was adopted!
